Telecom Regulating Authority India (TRAI) suggested a penalty of 3,050 crores on Airtel, Idea and Vodafone for objecting the calls from Reliance Jio. The news has been confirmed on last friday i.e. on 21st October.
As per TRAI’s recommendation to the department of Telecom, Airtel and Vodafone was fined to about Rs. 1,050 crores each, whereas Idea Cellular alone was given a penalty of 950 crores. It is said that Idea had stopped short of recommending cancellation of their telecom licences claiming that it may lead to the inconvenience of the customer.
Reliance Jio made a complaint that 75 percent of their calls are being turned down because of the defiance of the mentioned telecom services companies.
