Baahubali 2 review
The day has come! Baahubali 2 has hit the screens today and the audiences are going gag over the most awaited visual wonder. After a long wait of 2 years audiences are going to witness the reason behind Kattappa killing Baahubali. The epic drama has been released in over 8000 screens. Let us see whether Rajamouli and Prabhas made Baahubali 2 worth waiting for!
Amarendra Baahubali is sent to wander the country to gain knowledge. On his journey the king of Maahishmathi happens to see Devasena, the princess of Kunthala kingdom and falls in love with her at the first sight. He then leaves to her kingdom along with Kattappa, both in disguise.
Bhallala deva learns about the love story of Baahubali and Devasena. He then plots to take Sivagami’s word to marry him to Devasena. Knowing her elder son’s interest Sivagami sends the marriage proposal to Devasena which the princess initially rejects. Angered by her arrogant rejection Sivagami orders Baahubali to bring Devasena to Mahishmathi as his prisoner.
After receiving Sivagami’s word, Baahubali reveals his identity to Devasena and requests her to leave with him to Maahishmathi assuring no loss to her self respect. Thus the king and the princess arrive at Mahishmathi.
There rises the emotional drama between Sivagami and Devasena which turns the former against Baahubali making him leave the throne to Bhallala Deva in case he marries the Kunthala princess. How things later worsen for the newly married couple, what consequences lead to Baahubali’s death and how Mahendra Baahubali avenges his father’s death form the remaining story.
Prabhas is the first and the foremost highlight of Baahubali 2 as his performance as Amarendra Baahubali holds the interest throughout. His attitude, body language and subtle performance will undoubtedly steal the hearts.
Rana is more powerful than any of the villains Rajamouli created and the perfect portrayal of his deceptive attitude is another interesting element. Rana excels in each and every way during the climax fight and one would go in awe of him despite the fact that he is the antagonist.
Anushka has lived upto the role of Devasena and looks gorgeous. She has made the scenes between Sivagami and Devasena quite engaging with her acting.
Ramya Krishna impresses as usual but the role of Sivagami is not as powerful as it was in Baahubali – The Beginning. However, her dialogue delivery and emotional performance compensate.
Satyaraj has delivered an astounding performance filled with humour, sentiment and action. His performance in the scene of backstabbing Baahubali can be termed priceless. Also the light-hearted humour in the first half is one of the entertainment quotients.
Nassar has done an exceptional job and his chemistry with Rana throughout the film holds interest. Surprisingly, Subbaraju plays an important role in Baahubali 2 which is quite refreshing.
Each and every frame of Baahubali 2 is an absolute eye feast and serves a huge treat to the audiences. Music and background score come under the main highlights. Vfx shots during the rolling of titles, in Hamsa Naava song and in the action sequences are what places Baahubali 2 on top of Indian cinema. Costumes of Baahubali, Devasena and Sivagami are quite authentic and also enhance the grandeur.
Producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni must be given special credits as the epic series of Baahubali might not have turned out to be what it is without their aggressive planning and promotions.
Director Rajamouli proves his mettle to the world cinema and showcases what he is capable of with Baahubali 2. The way he handled emotional and action scenes deserve a huge applause. His spectacular vision and taking level is, for sure, a gift to the Telugu film industry and hope he continues to come up with many such epics.

Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion is one such film that must be experienced in theatre, on big screen. The grandeur the epic drama showcases is not what a cinegoer can often get to watch. Watch it to witness an epic that took life from Rajamouli, Prabhas and team.

As stated by director Rajamouli in his very recent interview, the story of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion is all about the consequences that led to Rana turning into the king of Mahishmathi, Kattappa killing Baahubali and the revenge taken by Shivudu aka Mahendra Baahubali.
Prabhas looks stunning in the second part and the action sequences featuring Amarendra Baahubali appeal to be feast for his fans. However, the epic face off between Shivudu and Bhalla will be what everyone is waiting for. Rana completes the screen with his humongous physique and the evil attitude he maintains through out Baahubali 2 showcases his amazing acting skills.
Anushka as Devasena will steal the hearts with her performance and glamour as well. The actress was at her best during romantic scenes and action sequences as well. Tamannaah has got nothing much to do in Baahubali 2 as the duration of her role is very limited. Ramya Krishna, Satyaraj and Nassar are the other main characters of Baahubali who made the drama even more gripping.
Cinematography of Baahubali 2 can be termed as one of the best in Indian cinema as each and every frame appears to be an eye feast. Even the video song promos raised the expectations on the film. Songs have already impressed the music lovers and will be more engaging with the video while watching the epic drama. Background score is outstanding. Production values are topnotch.
Director Rajamouli had shown it to Indian cinema what he is capable of with Baahubali – The Beginning and made us proud of our Telugu film industry. He removed the barriers between South and North film industries proving that a good cinema is what everyone will be waiting to watch. Hope he makes it even bigger with Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion and takes India cinema to the 1000 crore club.
Best wishes from Deccan Report to the entire cast and crew of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion.
